Tai Bai Waterfall in Binuang Sub-District, Polewali Mandar Regency
Polewali Mandar Regency becomes a good choice when it comes to nature tourism. One of the best places to visit is called Serambu Tai Bai in Binuang Sub-District, actually. This beautiful waterfall resides in Kaleok Village and has another name which is the twin waterfall (Air Terjun Kembar). In terms of accessibility, it is considered easy but tourists should pass through a steep landscape when they are getting near to the site. Despite such small challenge, no one would complain as they get an excellent reward in the end. It is the stunning waterfall where they can enjoy relaxation and photography with their families.
Once arriving at the parking area, tourists can start trekking to the waterfall for about several minutes. The distance between the parking area and the site is only 1 km, after all. The only consideration is that tourists should give a little bit effort in order to reach the site. It indeed takes trekking and it spends some stamina to get to the waterfall. Despite the tiredness, the trip is going to be fun and interesting due to various types of the panorama to enjoy including lush trees, farms, villagers, etc. Knowing this fact, everyone should consider carrying a camera while trekking.
The most recommended checkpoint to start trekking can be either Batetangnga or Kaleok Village. At this point, tourists can take a vehicle to get to Jabal Nur Mosque, where the parking area resides. From there, it takes 15 minutes of walk to get to the waterfall passing through a fork route. One thing, everyone should be careful while trekking as the route is quite narrow and slippery. It is recommended to wear nice footwear, therefore.
Once arriving at Tai Bai Waterfall, tourists may hear the sound of gurgling water and songs of birds right away. They are even allowed to wash their hands and face on site in order to eradicate tiredness. One thing, no one is allowed to spoil the environment. From Polewali Mandar Regency, it takes only 37 minutes to get to Tai Bai Waterfall as the distance is 21.9 km. The first destination is Binuang Sub-District. Next, they only need to reach Kaleok Village and park the vehicle on the available parking spot. Lastly, it takes a short trekking to get to Tai Bai Waterfall right away. The whole trip becomes faster if they take Poros Majene – Mamuju, actually.
